RAIN KEEPS TORRENCE OFF POMONA RACE TRACK

November 8, 2012 -- Southern California’s first rain in more than a month was enough to force NHRA officials to end the first day of qualifying for the 49th annual Auto Club Finals with Steve Torrence and the remainder of the Top Fuel drivers waiting to make their runs.

The Pro Stock Motorcycles, Pro Stock cars and Funny Cars all made their initial laps on the Pomona Raceway asphalt. 

Torrence still has three qualifying rounds to get his Torrence Racing/Capco Contractors dragster into the program, and the first comes Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
