BILLY TORRENCE TAKES ON ANTRON BROWN AT READING

October 5, 2013 --There always are surprises at every NHRA National event, and it is no difference at Sunday’s Auto-Plus Nationals.

For example: Billy Torrence – in his fourth Top Fuel race – is among the 16 starters and his son Steve will be helping dad get his first round win and hoping for several more during eliminations.

“This is a surprise because I never thought I would be in this situation,” said Billy Torrence.  “I have watched Steve race many, many times, but he was the one wearing the firesuit.

“It would be exciting to see him win his first round and more,” Steve commented.  “We all want him to do well.”

Billy secured the 12th starting slot Saturday morning with a run of 3.821 seconds, 318.39 mph.  He begins eliminations against Antron Brown.  He is fifth, 3.393 at 324.98 mph.
