EARLY REACTION ENDS TORRENCE’S DAY AT LAS VEGAS

Las Vegas Spring RaceApril 7, 2013 -- In Las Vegas terms, Steve Torrence regrettably rolled snake eyes in the first round of Sunday’s SummitRacing.com Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Matched against Morgan Lucas, Torrence reacted too soon at the start and the Torrence Racing/Capco Contractors Inc. dragster triggered the red light, giving the win to Lucas.

“It was just a long tree (waiting for the green light) and I stepped on it early,” explained Torrence.  I knew it was . . . it was just a reaction,”

Lucas, who had traction problems on the run, posted a time of 4.410 seconds at 204.39 mph.

Torrence’s team returns to Mello Yello series action April 19-21 in the Four-Wide Nationals at Charlotte, N.C.
